Dr. Arindam Ghosh
Group Leader
Arindam (Lithu) Ghosh studied Biotechnology in his Masters at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. After completing his Masters degree, he moved to Göttingen, Germany for pursuing a PhD in Biophysics under the supervision of Prof. Jörg Enderlein within the International Max Planck Research School on Physics of Biological and Complex Systems (IMPRS-PBCS) at the University of Göttingen. He graduated in the summer of 2021 with Summa cum laude. Following his PhD, Arindam moved to the Biozentrum, University of Würzburg in July 2021 for his postdoctoral training with Prof. Markus Sauer. In 2024 September, he shifted to the EMBL Single Molecule Science Node, UNSW Sydney for a second postdoc training with A/Prof. Izzy Jayasinghe. Arindam returned to Germany again in January 2026 to establish his independent research group at the newly established NCT WERA under DKFZ in Würzburg. During his training years, Arindam has developed technologies like graphene induced energy transfer (GIET) imaging, TDI-DNA-PAINT, and applied these technologies in biophysical and biomedical research. He has consistently published main author articles in Science, Nature Photonics, ACS Nano, Nano Letters, etc.
